一、主旨题(main idea)
典型问法：
1.What is the main topic of the article?
2.What is the passage mainly about?
3.What would be the most appropriate line for the article?
答题策略：
1.排除“无中生有”的选项
2. 任何涉及细节的选项都不能选。
3. 正确答案不会与文中的任何一句话完*相同。
4. 抓住每段的中心句。
例题：
Most biologists study living things that we know are real, but a few try to learn about animals that have not been proven to exist yet. This job belongs to scientists called cry pto-zoologists. Their job is to confirm if unknown animals, or cry ptids, really do exist. They have found evidence that animals like Bigfoot might be real and they've even proven that some cry ptids, such as the giant squid, do live in the world.

二、指代题 (reference)
典型问法：
1. In line…, the word…refers to…
2. The word…in the passage refers to…
答题策略：
1.一般来说，被指代的事物会出现在该代词之前。
2.所指代的内容一定来自文章中的某些单词或短语。
3.所选答案与这个代词具有数(单数或复数)和格(*人称、第二人称或第三人称)的一致性。
4.可以将所选答案替代代词放回原句，检验是否违反语法规则，是否能让句子表达通顺。
例题：
The coaches have all agreed that any student may participate on two athletic teams so long as one is the track team.Those students wishing to play two sports must speak with both coaches prior to tryouts. Finally, all students must submit an injury release form to the coach of the team they want to play on. No students will be permitted to try out until it has been turned in.

三、词义理解题 (word meaning)
典型问法：
1. In line…, the word…is closest in meaning to…
答题策略：
1. 即使知道被考单词的意思，也要阅读上下文，了解语境后再做出选择。因为一个单词在不同的语境中意思不同。
2. 十分生僻的单词或专业名词不会考到。
3. 应将选项带入原文进行检验，句子的意思不会改变。
例题：
Human beings often think that they are the smartest life form on Earth, but there is still a lot we can learn from other animals. To start, have you ever had trouble opening a banana? Well, chimpanzees never have trouble. Humans always try and open a banana from the top, but a chimpanzee doesn’t. It opens a banana from the bottom by pinching the black end, like apicking up salt with his fingers. A banana opens easily and quickly this way. A chimpanzee never fights to open it banana like a silly human!

考生可以从文中的某一句话中找到细节题的现成答案。考生只需判断这句话是否与问题相关。切忌随意选择，一定要做到有据可依。
